Rupert Murdoch created and runs one of the largest media empires in the world with interests in television, film, pay TV, the Internet, newspapers, and publishing. He wants, for some time now, to add the Wall Street Journal to his empire. He recently put a $5 billion bid for Dow Jones & Co. Here is a paper in the paper in question (WSJ):

Peter Bart says, in Variety: "Murdoch has always salivated for the Journal because it's rich, conservative and could be an elegant companion piece to his long-planned Fox Business Channel."
The voices against this move are very strong, yet Rupert is determined and patient. I agree with his quote: "The world is changing very fast. Big will not beat small anymore. It will be the fast beating the slow." But Rupert is big and he can afford to be slower, at least for such strategic developments.
