META-VIDEO SHARING SITES IN SIGHT

Complaints about fragmentation of video sharing offers might be solved by meta-sites or online aggregators allowing users to collect and organize videos from all kinds of video sharing sites... VodPod is one example, founded by Mark Hall, the former VP of International at RealNetworks. VodPod claims that it collected videos from 1000 different video sharing sites...yes, that is quite a lot. Which are those sites ? The YouTube, MetaCafe, Yahoo!Video, MySpace, DailyMotion likes would be that many out there ?

Once users collect and organize the videos in their "pod", they can then take the pod and embed it into their own blogs or social media pages. VodPod is competing against others like Mesmo.tv and WeShow. This sounds really compelling and goes certainly beyond social video bookmarking tools... To be followed up closely !
